Congrats to the DC area, we clinched three spots on the roster for 100 Most Romantic Restaurants in America! Open Table, the online reservations company that makes dinner reservations less of a nightmare, has released a list of 100 restaurants that they have deemed to be the most romantic in the country. The list itself is based on reviews from more than 5 million restaurants and the 12,000 reviews patrons have left for each dining establishment. If a restaurant gets enough positive mentions of “romance” in their reviews, then they make the cut. There are three restaurants that made the list of Most Romantic this year in the DC area:
Café Renaissance – A treasure hidden in the recesses of Vienna, Virginia, this restaurant is considered to be a more upscale kind of romantic joint. With a more elaborate decor and a classy ambience, Café Renaissance boasts some of the most delectable Italian-based dishes the mind can conjure up. Not a bad place to go to if you have some extra-dough and you’re trying to impress your significant other with your italian pronunciation.
Elkridge Furnace Inn – Even though I think Elkridge Maryland is a bit of a hike for my preferences, the trip would be well worth it for dining at this delightfully rustic establishment. It gives a vibe of “old-money”, but this is expected considering the restaurant dates back to 1744. The great thing about this place is that it gives you a ton of food for the money you spend there, which is not always the case for fine dining. If you decide to hit this place up for a good Valentines Day meal, I recommend wearing something snazzy but not filling up too much because it’s kind of a drive. Don’t want to fall asleep behind the wheel due to the food coma your meal put you in.
The Plume (Jefferson Hotel) – Finally, one of the restaurants that is actually within in DC city limits! Located in the trendy hub that is Dupont Circle, and is officially the most eye-gasmic restaurant you can patron in the city. This place takes presentation seriously, and man oh man, there are some sights to be held there. Between the dazzlingly elegant decor to the settings on your table, this place takes the word detail to the next level. They take their food even more seriously, with some plates and dishes that will bring you to your knees on the smell alone. An amazing place for a romantic date, but if you are shooting for a Valentines day dinner make reservations sooner than later because this place books fast.My hats off to these three restaurants for representing the more romantic side of the DC area, and hopefully they along with others make the list again next year!
